Lee Streby's Amazing & Imaginary Band - Classical Country Boy (Download)

Predicament Omnimedia will release Lee Streby's Amazing & Imaginary Band's second album, an 8-track EP entitled Classical Country Boy (POM2606DD) on Friday, August 14, 2026. This set of tracks features seven of the original songs penned by Lee reimagined in assorted classical ensemble styeles, with production supported via AI.  "My birthday was in July, and I wanted to have a little fun. I thought I'd bring together my humble Indiana country upbringing and my songwriting together with my classical background and make my own 'muzak' classical-crossover covers," Lee says.  The album features a piano trio treatment of the Ronnie Lee Robbins' hit, Permanently Single, to a sensitive but raucous duo piano version of If You Can Make Me Laugh, an appropriate setting of Preaching To The Choir, which he dedicated originally to Amy Grant, is performed as a violin sonata or encore piece, acknowledging Lee's own former major instrument.  Two versions of Ronnie Lee Robbins' tune, Living On The Edge (Of A Broken Heart) made it on the set, with the first reimagined as an epic film score, and a bonus track featuring the song as a 'Smooth Jazz Winds Edition' that you might hear someday in a dentist's office.  To round out the collection, Lee chose two of his original holiday songs from his debut collection, Songs for the Season, Vol. 1.  Tiny Tender Moments is gently presented in a flute and harp duet arrangement, and the pop-dance tune Christmas Is A Racket gets a large string ensemble treatment, like a modern concerto grosso for the holidays!

R. Lee Streby is the owner and CEO of Predicament Omnimedia and its parent label, Afinat Records). He is a classically trained violinist, former orchestra executive, opera director, writer, board chair, arts consultant and founder, fundraiser, and all-around creative impresario.  Lee expresses his creativity using modern tools like AI without apology. For critics of AI-generated music, Lee says "Well, just turn it off. My songs are my songs and they sound better than I could ever afford to cut them. I'm getting older in years and this stuff just humors me and keeps me sane."  Lee resides in Southeast Florida with his partner and four cats.
