Predicament’s purpose is to release quality music (and other media) that is created from a combination of human creativity using digital AI technology.  The song is a simple, heartfelt tribute from the perspective of a lifelong fan to one special artist whose lyrics, songs, and voice captivated the song's narrator from his teenage years to the present, becoming, at the song's penultimate bridge, "the soundtrack to my life." 

The song is intended as a tribute to the songs and voice of six-time Grammy winner, multi-platinum selling artist, the "Queen of Christian Pop" (and Kennedy Center Honoree) Amy Grant, to whom the song is dedicated. 

With lyrics and melody by POM/Afinat CEO, R. Lee Streby, and additional lyric contributions by a fellow fan and friend, Amy Colonna-Robinson, the song is an intensely personal and heartfelt expression of gratitude to Ms. Grant.  Streby says, "I thought over a period of at least 10 years how I might actually give something back to Amy someday, more than just a handshake and 'thank you' at a photo opportunity, I mean - after four-plus decades of touching my heart and soul with so much music that has made a profound impact on my life!  As I started trying my hand at songwriting and then discovered the absolutely stunning magic of AI tools, I thought giving back one song as a tribute would be at least respectful and appropriate.  Non-intrusive, not obsessive in a scary way, just a message that conveys how I feel." 

He became even more determined to finish it after Grant publicly shared recent events that had affecting her health, including an open heart surgery to repair a miraculously discovered birth defect, to a tragic and frightening bicycling accident that resulted in a severe concussion.  "Things were scary to me, thinking how we might not get to hear another new Amy Grant song.  And as I might have sat down to begin writing it in 2023, the true beginning of this song stretches way back to 1979 when I really first heard her voice.  The song says I was only 17, because I felt it rhythmically fit better, but I was actually only 12."  

Streby says, "The song is intended to put a spin on the title phrase, sometimes thought of as a negative thing. I have always thought of it in relation to Amy's career because I think I am among a group of very early fans who were fully committed and remained connected as her career unfolded and expanded, then exploded, and then kind of settled into something that fit her own choices, her own pace, her own life. There are eras where her audience exploded by legions of people just discovering their first Amy Grant song, and eras where some of those same fans judged and abandoned her, hook, line, and sinker. But I always knew who she was, and what she meant to me was a relatable person who just talked and sang about life, sometimes through the lens of faith, but always through the voice of humanity. To me, every new song, every new album, was preaching to the choir and something I needed to hear at that time. I am there every Sunday, no matter what she chooses to preach next. I cheered at her wins, and I have defended her during perceived 'lows.' I love every opportunity to hear whatever message she decides to sing to her fans. The really uncanny thing, which I hope the song conveys, is how Amy seemed (and still does) to come out with the right song, or the right style of music that matched up to what was happening in my own life, in a way that is uncanny. It has to be a miracle, because I know she really knows nothing about me. She devoted a special single to breast cancer awareness two months before my sister passed away from that disease. That had to go into the song, but it's one of many similar moments."

Streby has met the artist personally "five times," he says. “I have thanked her in person, and after all the years of her providing the soundtrack to my life, I just wanted to give something appropriate and tasteful back. So it's this one little tune, written from the heart, even if fleshed out in production with 21st-century AI technology. It sounds far, far better than I could ever do it justice, as I cannot sing well. But it's intended just as a message to tell her really what this journey has felt like on my side of the stage. I am just putting it out in the world for people to hear and connect to it if they feel the same. I think a lot of her fans will get it, and I think anyone who has followed a particular musical artist over the course of their life might get what this feels like. I just hope she hears it and smiles someday."
